Manage Services in MioSalon

Services in a salon refer to the range of beauty, grooming, and wellness treatments offered to clients. Salons and spas provide a variety of services tailored to meet the diverse needs and preferences of their clientele. Managing and organizing services in MioSalon allows simplified appointment booking that enhances the customer experience.

Creating Services

To manage services, you must be an Admin user, or you must have the Can manage service settings permission enabled in staff member settings. To create a service, you must first create the service Group.

1. How to create a service group in MioSalon?

Service groups enable you to categorize the different types of services provided by your salon. To create a service group, follow these steps

  • Go to “Settings” in the main navigation bar on the left-hand side. 

  • Scroll down to “Modules Settings”.  Click on “Service”. 

  • In the service, click on the “Add New Group” button.

  •  Enter the “Group Name”, which refers to the category that includes a collection of related services. For example, Hair Care - A category of all hair-related services.


2. How to edit or rename the service group?

To edit the service group  follow these steps :

  • Go to “Settings” in the main navigation bar on the left-hand side. 

  • Scroll down to “Modules Settings”.  Click on “Service”. 

  • To edit a specific service group, click on "Edit group" under "Service Group." 

  • A pop-up titled "Update Service" will appear, where you can make the required changes to the service group. 

  • Click the "Update" button to save your edits.


How to delete the service group?

To delete a service group, follow these steps:

  • Go to “Settings” in the main navigation bar on the left-hand side. 

  • Scroll down to “Modules Settings”.  Click on “Service”. 

  • Select the desired "Service Group" you wish to remove.

  • A pop-up titled "Update Service Group" will appear; within it, click the "Delete" button.

  • A confirmation pop-up will display, and you should click "I understand, I cannot undo this action."

  • Click "Delete" to confirm and complete the deletion process.

3. How to add services to a service group?

 Service refers to a specific treatment or procedure provided to clients for their personal grooming and beautification.


*First, you need to create the service group. Then, within the service group, you should create each service individually.*


  • Go to “Settings” in the main navigation bar on the left-hand side. 

  • Scroll down to “Modules Settings”.  Click on “Service”. 

  • Click on “Add New Group” to create a new service group or choose from the existing service group to add a new service.

  • In the service group, click on "Add Services”.  Fill in all the required details and save. 

    • Service Name: The name of the service provided to clients.

    • Service Duration: The duration of time required to complete the service.

    • Staff Sign-Off Duration: The duration of time required for the staff to clean the resources after the service, during which they will not be available for new services.

    • Customer Readiness Duration: The duration of time the customer needs to wait after a specific treatment or service before continuing with the next service. The staff will be available for new services during this time, but the customer will be blocked for the combined service and readiness durations.

    • Full Price: The standard price charged for the service.

    • Tag Staff: The identification tag or code assigned to staff members involved in providing the service.

    • Tax Applicable: Indicates whether taxes are applicable to the service.

    • HSN/SAC Code: SAC codes and HSN codes are used to classify salon services for taxation and accounting purposes. Note: HSN and SAC codes are not applicable in international accounting; they are only relevant to Indian clients.

    • If you want to visible the services for online booking check the "Allow online booking for this service" box.

  • Click “Save”


Note:

The order in which the service group and services appear on this screen will be the same as your online booking. To rearrange, simply drag and drop.


4. How to edit or update the service individually?

To update a service individually, follow these steps:

  • Go to “Settings” in the main navigation bar on the left-hand side. 

  • Scroll down to “Modules Settings”.  Click on “Service”. 

  • Expand the “Service Group” and click the “Service” that needs to be updated.

  • A pop-up named “Update service” will appear, and on that make the necessary changes to the service.

  • Click on the “update” button to  save the change 


5. How to delete service individually?

To delete a service individually, follow these steps:

  • Go to “Settings” in the main navigation bar on the left-hand side. 

  • Scroll down to “Modules Settings”.  Click on “Service”. 

  • Expand the “Service Group” and click the “Service” that needs to be deleted.

  • A pop-up named “Update service” will appear on that click the “delete” button

  • A confirmation popup will appear, click “I understand, I cannot undo this action.” 

  • Click on “Delete” to complete the deletion process.




How can I upload a bulk service list?/How to import my Service List/Price menu in Bulk?


  • The bulk service upload feature allows you to quickly upload and manage multiple services at once, saving time for both the front desk and staff. 

  • It provides the convenience of making edits, including price changes, as needed during the upload process. This feature streamlines service management and enhances efficiency in service-oriented businesses.

  • Go to “Settings” in the main navigation bar on the left-hand side. 

  • Scroll down to See “Modules Settings”

  • Click on “Service”. click on the Import Service option.

  • Click the “Download Template” option to download the required template and fill in the services list.

  • Now Template will be downloaded and opened in Excel format, fill in the mandatory details like “Service Group, Service name, Duration, and price”.

  • Fill in the other details such as block duration, waiting duration, and online booking (Note: for online booking enter Y to display this service online and N for vice versa)

  • Now click on “Import Services” and choose the file location to upload.



Things to be considered while importing the list, 


  • Make sure to avoid the Special characters (ex :*,# ,~,$) in the sheet.

  • Avoid duplication of the service name especially if the services name is the same for Male and female, kindly add the M/f or male /female next to the service to differentiate the name.

  • Enter the Duration in Minutes (only numbers i.e. for 60 Mins- enter 60)

  • Enter the tax name in tax column ( Note: if the tax is created/enabled in settings > point of sale or else leave it blank )

  • Save the excel sheet in the Excel workbook .xlxs format.

  • Check for the "Service list imported successfully" pop-up on the screen.


How can I generate a service-wise sales report?

The purpose of the service-wise sales report is to provide a comprehensive overview of individual staff members based on the specific services they provide. The report aims to help identify which services generate high profits, enabling informed decision-making and optimization of service offerings for maximum profitability.


1. Go to “Reports” and select “Appointment & Sales”.

2. Select the “Service Sales” report from the drop-down.

3. Choose the “Staff name” and “Date range” and click View.

4. You can download the “Basic report” and “Detailed report” in Excel.
